
Todd appears frequently in Court at the Provincial, Supreme and Appeal levels. He has conducted multiple trials at the Supreme Court level as lead counsel, including Silverman v. Silverman 2009 BCSC 1349 and Haigh v. Spence 2010 BCSC 270; in both his clients were successful enough at trial to have received their costs. Todd's client was the successful party in the Court of Appeal in Semancik v. Saunders 2011 BCCA 264.
Todd graduated from U.B.C. Law School in 2007, was called to the Bar in 2008 and has been with the firm for six years, having joined during his studies. Todd was the recipient of several scholarships during law school, including the Bruce McColl Memorial Prize in Alternate Dispute Resolution as well as a Law Foundation Award for a paper he wrote on the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines.
Todd provides regular pro-bono family law advice through volunteer efforts with Access to Justice and has been a contributor to both CLE conferences and CBA Family Law Subsection Meetings. Todd is a contributing author of the British Columbia Family Practice Manual and will sit as a member of the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association Vancouver Family Subsection for the 2011/2012 year. Todd volunteers as a guest lecturer on family law at the Professional Legal Training Course run by the Law Society.
Todd is a member of good standing of the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of British Columbia.
In his spare time, Todd does long haul canoe trips, having done several hundred kilometers each in Ontario, the Yukon, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
