Shashika is an associate lawyer who has worked at Basran Robin Allen & Desilets since his first year of law school. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2015 and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2016. Prior to law school, Shashika graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University in Pennsylvania with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.

While in law school, Shashika took various courses in trial advocacy and negotiation and was the inaugural recipient of the Slater Vecchio LLP Trial Advocacy Entrance Award in 2012. Shashika was also heavily involved with Green College, a graduate student community at UBC, where he chaired several committees and was a member of the Residents’ Council. For his various contributions to the college, Shashika was honoured with the William C. Gibson Citation in 2015.

Shashika is currently a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.

In his free time, Shashika enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and living vicariously through his beloved sports teams (especially the 2018 NCAA Champion Villanova Wildcats). In addition, he enjoys researching the intersection between law and sport and is a contributor to the book Legal Issues in Professional Hockey: National and International Dimensions.
